Provision for Leak centers

Provision for Leak centers.

Almost everything we do someone somewhere is aware of it. Those who are aware of it may be voluntary or involuntary participants, observers, or confidants. There should be venues where those of us with knowledge of irregularities could express our displeasure. For our society to conform to the rules of law, we must all contribute to it. If we are aware of anyone, indigenous or foreign, who is involved in any irregularity that may harm our community and or country economically, politically, and socially, we must have the venue to report it. That venue must be readily available to every citizen. Each one of us should have a platform to expose, confront, and disrupt, any irregularity as long as what is presented is evidentiary.
Benefits of Leak centers
(a) If information is knowledge which gives us power and success, venues that will generate information for an organization, community, and State will contribute to the success of a society. The opportunity to access reports of crimes committed and or imminent irregularities will make a society safer, condition the culture, and produce a great society.
(b) Each individual becomes more patriotic and powerful as each one of us now has the power to protect our organization, community, State and country.
(c) It will condition our society to conform to the rules of law and trade. The reasoning of ‘who will first stop doing what is wrong’ (the chicken or the egg adage) will no longer be a reason for non-conformance. There is now a venue to divulge our displeasure without grudgingly partaking in deeds that are immoral or discomforting.
(d) It is reasonable that every society should have Leak centers especially for those afraid of reprisals. Most irregularities are known by those within an occupation or organization. Just as technology originates within industries in the search for better ways of doing things, leaks originate from the people within organization, occupation, or community to report irregularities that are harmful economically, politically, or socially to a citizen, organization, community, State, or country. Leaks are insider release of information on irregularities that supports the conditioning of a society’s culture.
(e) This center supports law enforcement in solving crimes already committed or imminent. Our society will be safer and irregularities will be lessened. In countries that utilises this ‘leak centers’ and ‘call center’s’, the public contributed to about 95% of irregularity’s detection and preventions.
Who should create ‘Leak centers’
Presently in our country every organization, community, government department and agency, State, and federal, should create venues where its members could divulge irregularities. We are so undisciplined that we need to check each other to condition our culture. This is only a fraction of the means necessary to start restructuring our culture. In an organization, such as banks, who will be most informed about mismanaged funds more than co-workers that work within? I am confident that the management and owners of these banks will not choose bankruptcy or loss of their customers as an option. In our educational institutions there are horror stories of indiscipline by lecturers and students. Our children and grandchildren, our future, attend these schools. It will be prudent to have a place to report these irregularities. We have school management, parents association, school boards, and education ministers. Our judicial system may want to pay more attention to policing itself while the public, the media, and the executive branch of government pay more attention to the means this branch of government could be conditioned because it plays too much of a major role in our culture.
‘No leader should fear public scrutiny of his program for from that scrutiny come understanding, support or opposition and both are necessary ----- without debate, without criticism, no administration can survive, no country can succeed, and no republic can survive’. (JFK)
The media. I will take this opportunity to thank the Nigerian media. Most of you have, exposed, confronted, and disrupted, majority of the irregularities in our country. We commend you in spite of our unconditioned culture that is increasingly becoming, confrontational, aggressive, and violent. However you must do more. Communicate with simple language that regular Nigerians can understand, find the means to reach more audience, create ‘Leak centers’ and ‘call centers’ in your industry. Support each organization, agency, government department, community, State and country to create Leak centers. Use experts to design it for us, use your editorial page to educate us about this important issue and finally help us because our country is falling apart. ‘So it is to the printing press the recorder of man’s deeds, the keeper of his conscience, and the courier of his news, that we look for strength and assistance confident that with your help man will be what he was born to be free and independent’.
